"Database" Lesson and Major Changes

Hello Everyone!

The long waited "Database lesson" is now available!

It's a big update which covers both Database management to some basic RPG designing. As the game development progress, the price raised from $5,99 to $10.99.

Together with this lesson release, I'm doing some important changes on this project as listed below:

1 - Keeping it Simple

I'm keeping only the "basic lessons" for this project and removing the lessons planned for the "second book" (in the middle of the starter screen, where you choose the desired lessons to play).

"Simple enough for a child, powerful enough for a developer", the official motto of the RPG Maker MV engine. I decided to stick to that.

More advanced features can be tackled easily by professionals which previous knowledge of Javascript and Programming Logic, thus, it's pointless to give lessons about them on this project. Professionals who are looking for some tutorials regarding RPG Maker still can benefit from these basic lessons, though.

The "Basic lessons" now are:

• Maps - 99% (Available now)
• Events - 99% (Available now)
• Switches - 99% (Available now)
• Variables - 99% (Available now)
• Database - 99% (Available now)
• Battles - 14% (Still under development)

And the more "Advanced lessons" below were completely canceled:

Game Progression - 6%

• Events II- 2%
• Database II- 1%
• Programming Logic- 14%
• Common Events- 3%
• Dungeons- 7%
• World Map- 9%
  

The "Game Publishing" lessons with the "Sample Game" still remains scheduled to be developed and released.

Game Publishing - 1%

• Sample Game - 0% (Still under development)
• Deployment - 2% (Still under development)

2 - Changes in Browser Demo

I will no longer update the "Browser Demo" with new lessons. You will need to support this project to have access to them.

Later, I'll update it with the "Sample Game" and a few selected lessons.

3 - Changing the Fairy Avatar Option

I'm keeping only the Male and Female avatars as player choices from now on.

The idea behind the Fairy avatar, as many of you obviously guessed, was to offer a third option for non-binary persons. However, I received some in-private criticism regarding it as some sort of "bad joke", which was not my intention to transgender identities.

Now, you are suggested in-game to create your own custom avatar by editing the "Source Files" directly.

4 - Patreon Closed

Patreon is surely a great way to fund your projects. Many artists benefits from it. However, I'm working on this project only sporadically on my scarce spare time. Running a successful Patreon campaign requires some free time to build your audience, which I don't have right now. You still can do your one time support here on Itch.io.
